Every painting tells a story.

The Janet Munro exhibition, A Life in Paint, at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, New York, celebrates more than fifty years of work by this self-taught American folk artist. Her paintings capture the places, traditions, and everyday people that make up the American experience.

Her richly detailed paintings bring lively communities, historic streets, farms, and waterfront scenes to life through bold composition and expressive color. Explore more of her work on the J.L. Munro official website.
